Niosomes are self-assembled nanostructured carriers, composed of non-ionic surfactants and cholesterol, capable of encapsulating both lipophilic and hydrophilic molecules and of overcoming the skin’s natural barrier for a controlled and targeted release of active ingredients. Research highlights how the use of niosomes significantly improves skin penetration and the cosmetic efficacy of active ingredients compared to conventional formulations.

It acts as a smart carrier that resolves the paradox of modern dermatology: maximising penetration depth whilst avoiding damage to the cellular barrier.
